On October 30th 2010, Hurricane Tomas swept through Saint Lucia leaving behind unprecedented damage to the physical, social and economic infrastructure of the island. This is by far one of the worst disasters to have struck this nation with damage estimated to run into hundreds of millions of dollars. The rebuilding effort undoubtedly will require huge inputs of human and financial resources.
The Government of Saint Lucia recognizes that that many of its friends, both local and overseas, patriotic individuals and organizations, as well as friendly governments, may be willing to assist in the relief and recovery effort. To facilitate the receipt of such generous donations, the Government has established the Saint Lucia Disaster Relief Fund.
